Principal's Monthly Message

June 2017

Dear Monrovia High School Parents:

Happy beginning of summer! I hope that you have something special planned to relax and rejuvenate. I wanted to give you a few important updates and an important action that needs your attention.

School Loop

At the end of June 2017, our district contract with School loop with expire and we will shift over to a similar system called Aeries Web. Aeries Web has student, teacher, and parent portals that will allow for access to student grading and attendance data as well as email communication to MHS staff.

Although we recognized that the school’s PRIDE period provided a unique level of support to our students, it’s effectiveness across the campus did not meet our expectations as was evident in the review of the student, staff and parent surveys. Our school staff collectively decided to remove the PRIDE period from our daily schedule beginning this next school year and return to the schedule we had previously used. That schedule can be located on our website. We still have the goal to create a welcoming campus for all students and will continue to look at programs and trainings that will help us reach that goal.

This year our registration process will be modified to optimize your time and to create a personalized opportunity for you and your child to meet with your assigned counselor. In order to register for classes for the upcoming year, you must sign up with your counselor for a registration meeting at an open timeslot between 7/17/17 and 8/11/17. To do so, go to the link listed below for your child’s counselor and sign up for an appointment slot that fits into your schedule.

A – Garc

Noel Hernandez – Rm325

Gas – Gr, +MASA

Noelani Putirka – Rm325

Bring all of the above listed documents with you at your appointed time to the check-in table located just inside the main entrance doors at the front of school. Parking on Colorado and in the lot located off of Madison will both be available. After meeting with your counselor you will be visiting the ASB store to purchase PE clothes/Yearbook/MHS swag/ and an ASB card. Then you will visit the library to check out your text books. The whole visit should take about 45 minutes. Should you need further assistance, please visit us at

I look forward to a successful school year in partnership with your family.
