Way to go, Wildcats! This is the first year Monrovia High School fielded a boys beach volleyball team. The team finished it's regular season with a win over San Gabriel High School. They finished with an 1-3 record, respectively, and played in a couple of post season tournaments. While still considered a club, the team is working toward getting certified as an official CIF sport. (Music by Zachariah Hickman - Sweet Relief)

volleyball is nothing new to Monrovia unified however this is the first year Monrovia High School fielded a boys beach volleyball team crazy thing about actually like it's you know I'm going to grow up and lay down and just you know realize like I was first year of beach volleyball at the school was pretty fun season with three straight losses we started at a place of basically nothing from 0 + and going up against teams who have been doing this for a while and Coach Marvin phone says his student-athletes never gave up the team end of the year and I know beating San Gabriel High School 221 close out the regular season in the beginning but that's the kind of just squeak out that way and really surprised that other team it kind of validated the work and the commitment that these guys it's just been doing all year I'm really proud of them with their debut season now over the team is already looking to next year hoping to improve where they left off is kind of Bittersweet I mean it's volleyball you know the seasons are going to come to land you don't want it to but it happened I was going to end the season on a victory if boost in morale before going into other competitions the boys team now has experience to build on as they sport
