MHS Named Among Best High Schools for the Second Consecutive Year

MONROVIA - We're excited to share that Monrovia High School (MHS) has secured a place in the respected U.S. News & World Report's 2024 Best High Schools list for the second year in a row! This achievement highlights our commitment to delivering quality education and cultivating an environment that promotes student success.

The national ranking of #2,987 and state ranking of #415 puts MHS in the top 20 percent of top schools in each category. Being labeled as one of the top high schools nationwide is a testament to the dedication of our students, families, staff, and the entire Monrovia community.

The ranking process involved a rigorous evaluation in collaboration with RTI International, a well-respected nonprofit research organization. They meticulously reviewed thousands of public high schools nationwide, including ours.

The ranking reflects the combined performance across six key indicators that define school quality. Those key indicators include:
  • College Readiness
  • College Curriculum Breadth
  • State Assessment Proficiency
  • State Assessment Performance
  • Underserved Student Performance
  • Graduation Rate
Thank you for your ongoing support for our schools as we prepare our graduates for college, career, and life in Monrovia!
