MHS Welcomes New Basketball Coaches

MONROVIA, Calif. — Monrovia High School (MHS) is thrilled to introduce its newest additions to the basketball coaching staff: Alon Margalit, who will lead the Boys Basketball Program, and Remy Hare, who will take charge of the Girls Basketball Program.
 
Coach Margalit brings a wealth of experience to the Wildcats, having previously served as the Head Varsity Boys coach at several esteemed institutions, including Blair High School in Pasadena, Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary in Montebello, Renaissance Academy in Altadena, and Academy of Sports Science Prep in Corona. His coaching tenure boasts an impressive track record, with notable achievements including two appearances as a CIF Southern Section Championship Finalist, clinching one CIF Southern Section Championship title, and leading his team to one State CIF Division 1 Regional Final. Coach Margalit's leadership has been instrumental in orchestrating significant turnarounds within basketball programs, consistently delivering remarkable seasons marked by 20 or more victories.
 
Coach Remy Hare, whose roots within the Monrovia community run deep, is also joining MHS. Coach Hare has previously served as both a Junior Varsity and Varsity Assistant Coach at Monrovia High School. An MHS alumna, Coach Hare continued to excel in basketball at the collegiate level, competing for Mount San Antonio College, Westcliff University, and La Sierra University. Alongside her athletic pursuits, Coach Hare has obtained her teaching credential and is committed to a dual career path as an educator and athletic coach.
