MHS DSA Program Wins Congressional App Challenge with Doodle Dogs

Monrovia, CA - Monrovia High School's (MHS) Digital Studies Academy (DSA) has once again emerged victorious in the highly competitive Congressional App Challenge (CAC) for Congresswoman Grace Napolitano's district. This annual event challenges students to harness their creativity and technical prowess to develop innovative applications.

This accomplishment underscores the academy's commitment to fostering excellence in digital studies. The winning app, named "Doodle Dogs," has captivated audiences and showcased the incredible skills of the young developers.

"Proud of the Doodle Dogs team for bringing in DSA Interactive's 2nd Congressional App Challenge win!" said DSA teacher Anthony Carlson. "I can't say enough about the talent that brought this to the finish line. I truly am blessed to be working with such creatives."

The game has you play as a dog sitter tasked with watching the toughest dogs in Paris. Each dog has its own minigames to beat to see how this heartfelt little story plays out. Monrovia High School students created this app from scratch with script writing, music creation, coding, art design, and more!

The Congressional App Challenge is a prestigious competition where U.S. Representatives publicly recognize winning teams for their exceptional app creations. Each winning app earns the honor of being displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for an entire year to showcase the talent and ingenuity of the students involved.

Doodle Dogs, a testament to the collaborative efforts of the DSA Interactive students, not only secured a prestigious victory but also exemplifies the program's commitment to pushing the boundaries of digital innovation. The app's success is a source of pride for Monrovia High School, the Digital Studies Academy, and the MHS community.

The Doodle Dogs app and its predecessor, "Andy's Donuts," are now available for download on the iOS App Store. Users are invited to experience the creativity, skill, and dedication that went into crafting these applications.

Congratulations to the Doodle Dogs team on their well-deserved victory, and we look forward to witnessing the continued success of Monrovia High School's DSA in the years to come!
