Okay there you go assuming to make you the co-host to Sean okay so you'll be able to turn on your camera now that's weird I don't know what's what that's all about it looks like you're using like a mind of your auntie how are you so it's still recording so we can't say it. I know she misses all this fun oh my gosh happen again going to the Spaghetti Factory in a kid waited on me that I hadn't class 5 years ago I am be their best multiple time it's with the right in the face Shields and so now shut down the entire time. I was just do me too I like tell me if you guys I've been there in a long time Lisa's Mom's birthday today so nice I don't see Ryan yet to you you text him I have not are you texting I will probably get started here in a little bit okay one more minute I'll let him I'll begin I think if I click the start webinar it'll just started I'm going to go live then all right so we are now live and people are starting to gather get started in a few minutes here everybody welcome as a co-host can you see the attendees list increasing awesome I just noticed he names a good I don't see the names attendees now I can see all the names alright welcome everybody we're going to get started in just a few minutes as people are getting settled and getting there kept their audio all tuned up and ready to go Welcome to the senior webinar on all things seniors graduation senior event closing out the school year together will going to get started here in just a moment instrumen love I am going to make you a co-host so you are able to open up your camera when you're that way if there's an angel fans in the house they don't have to look at your Dodger paraphernalia your screensaver they play each other this weekend oh really can we just take a moment to acknowledge that there was an oriole no-hitter yesterday and it does not happen since I was one-year-old so everybody in the house mr. Dawes is a die-hard Baltimore Orioles fan if you have zoomed in to the Monrovia High School senior webinar you're in the right spot if you're looking for some other event you were at the wrong link I can't help you where to get started in here in just a minute just a reminder in case you have a friend or family member that would like to watch this this is being recorded we will post it on our website tomorrow so please pass the word if someone you know is is worried about catching up on all this information where to get started here in just a few minutes allow for some more attendees to join thanks for joining carving out a little bit of time this evening the purpose and goal tonight is to just to share some information give you an update to where we are and answer any questions that you might have and and then get any feedback that you might have looked for us so we can continue to plan to help celebrate and recognize the cost 21 it was so great to see everybody yesterday driving through picking up the yard signs thank you again to this group of people Ryan and Sean and Paula can't do this without you is so much fun to be out there and wasn't it was warm but it wasn't that hot but boy I was thirsty when I got home last night I would I would argue that it was pretty hot about a month we're going to be wishing it was only yeah that might be the case to make sure we turn on the AC for graduation so we'll be okay couldn't call I'll put in a work order for that alright welcome everybody all right well just a few more minutes and then we'll go and get started again for those of you who are just joining in this is the Monrovia High School senior webinar were here to share some information with you and talk a little bit about closing out these next few weeks together I'm going to try to pack a lot in over the next couple weeks because we only have a few more moments with you before you move on to something different than Monrovia High School which we are so excited to help seller you and and walk along those paths with you always always a little bit of a mixed emotions like I'm super excited to see them graduate see them finish and move on and then I also like turn I'm going to miss them right all right let's go and get started we've got just over a hundred people joined us this evening I'm going to go ahead and share my screen and gets I did on our underway are you seeing that now gentleman all right cool well as I said if you are here for the get that out of the way if you are here for the senior webinar you in the right spot welcome everybody let me go and share a little bit about the agenda for this evening we're going to talk about graduation that's number one on our list we're going to talk about senior events that we have scheduled for you and then we're also going to answer your questions your host Seaman or mr. Paul dolls Mister Ryan menlove and this is Sean. And you got me as your principal if you have questions you can use the the chat feature at the bottom my team will start will answer questions throughout the the presentation as much as we can and and if any question is not answered live tonight we will make sure that we get those answer to all of you culmination of this of this presentation let's talk a little bit about graduation comes every year at this this time of year yet this situation is rather unique with coming back on hybrid the ongoing question has been what's going to happen with graduation last year we had we had to be really creative created the drive-through and and made 2020 provide an opportunity for them to be celebrated this year it's a little bit different we sent out a survey a little while ago thank you for all the feedback we got and 65% of you said a wheel we like that we heard that was pretty cool but we wanted in person graduation we want to be in our stadium with our friends and our family so we wanted in person graduation well guess what folks we think we're going to be able to do that so mark your calendars June 9th 2021 at 5 p.m. for Monrovia High School class of 2020 in person live graduation ceremony where you ask funny you should ask I hear it Wildcats stadium on our in our beautiful campus the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health gives us a ton of guidelines we've been going up point over them very carefully in in to open up our school for this hybrid model and then secondly in order to help plan this graduation ceremony so we've been taking guidance from them and it has some pretty specific specific Materia for us to meet in order to host I submitted an application anything that you any event that you have that's over 250 people you need to have this application event application so I've already submitted on our behalf and submitted all my safety protocols and practices and we've been given the green light to keep moving on with our planning which is awesome one of the biggest questions is how many people get come to my family well the county provides some pretty specific guidelines about that social distancing and capacity markers so looking at their guidelines looking at our our then you we believe that we are caught we're confident that we're going to be going to be able to give provide it for tickets to every graduate for your family to come and attend in person to watch you walk across that stage of pretty great initially thinking it was going to be much less or thinking maybe only two tickets per graduate. That wasn't going to work so we are confident and excited about the opportunity to give you four tickets for graduate absolutely complimentary no need to buy any tickets from us the other thing that is that we have planned we're going to be able to live stream the whole entire a graduation ceremony so you your family extended family member might need will be able to watch it from the comfort of their own home or as you're in sitting in the stands you two can watch it you can see your your child walk across that stage of clothes from the comfort of your own person to device be live streamed by our very own Monrovia High School digital Studies Academy program so if mr. Carlson and mr. Fluker and their team of student videographers and producers are going to be cast from the show so it's going to be pretty darn awesome let's go to the next a little bit more some more details about the graduation let's talk a little bit about some of those guidelines LA County requires that we still practice social distancing that means both for graduates and the family units so with that being said that's why the spacing in spacing in the capacity even in that Stadium we need to pay attention to so I've got a little bit of planning and mapping out imma show you that in a minute so I know that everybody will be socially distanced we are going to require that everyone wear their masks in this event as well graduates will be sitting six feet apart from each other but you'll be not that you still will be with your friends and then family units the four tickets that we give to your family will will identify seating areas for you so that you can be together as a group of four and then socially distance from text family unit by six feet apart LA County guidelines do require that we assign you seats so we're going to be looking at a procedure to assign those seeds families right now the plan is to have that completely randomized so we have 380 seating areas that are assigned by numbers 380 graduates give it to me put them on to the randomizer machine and give you a seat assignment area so let's say mr. men love your family for your graduate this is save your number turns out to be the same number 79 you will find you and your family will go fine sleep number or box number 79 for your four pack of seeds for your family exempt that next thing would be really careful about our entrance and exit strategies and practices this is another part of the application I submitted the counting we have to have delineate addicted spaces for people to enter the facility so that they are not crossing over each other so we'll will provide you with some more Direction about I do that where to show up where to enter the the facility things like that same thing for the exit when it is make sure that we are exiting in the Safeway so that we're not crossed mingling and creating a big log Jam what is exit where we will break that social distancing guidelines so will provide you with some more Direction about that and then the other thing that we want to be really transparent about that we're going to need your help everybody and family members we are going to need you to once you exit the facility when you going to need you to head on home and head off a campus the fact that in the past we had people who gathered together and hug and and take photos and and hang out on campus that really is is is not advisable infected it's prohibited so we need you to make a plan ahead of time with your family to either take photos you know pre events or post-event off campus so find go to library park or your backyard or somewhere else please so I don't want anybody to get to look at themselves in the Harm's Way so let's talk that's graduation gentleman any any questions from from the audience that we want to take a moment as it here in an answer we have got seen anything in the Q&A or the chat so you barely covered things very well why I hope I hope that the q-and-a and the chat is is like open or something it just popped up thank you. At least I know it wouldn't be a surprise if I didn't click the right button or something on the on the webinar and to allow that to happen all right well we can answer the question as we move on let me show a little bit about what I would that plan could look like so if this is a picture of of our last in-stadium graduation just kind of been an idea what the layout looks like you can see The Graduate chairs near that 2019 sign and then stage right in the center of the field and then I chairs you know packed all together I'm sharing this only because that's not what we're going to be allowed to do that. and that function is not going to be you know what's 6 ft * 380 * all the people coming we need to spread out a lot more so I just wanted you to see what what the model has been in the past put some time thank you honey are you one of our custodian so if you see Ernie around campus dim a high five awesome he helped me set up some chairs out in the field a week or so ago that want the picture on the left is there is a bit sample of what the garage was chairs are going to look like they are 6 feet apart and inserted like alternating stash and so you'll be able to be able to kind of keep them clipped narrow the stop a little bit that little is that little triangle is 60 between each one of those chairs so that's what the garage wood chairs are going to look like we think if I start them around the 5-yard line those Rose will go all the way back to about the 45-yard line so the graduates alone will take up probably half of the whole entire football field so he's just going to give you an idea what that looks like the picture. that's a sample of what the family four packs the seating arrangement is going to look like and yes it is and that's coming up I got a future dates coming up and those that's a sample of what the the family 4-pack of chairs are going to look like for the on Field seating and then we have another plan for in the stadium as well no I want to give you an idea okay. Don't laugh you're please this this is my this is my hand drawn map of what the field is the draft of what it's going to look like I just wanted an idea what that looks like we're going to turn the the the stadium the field end up at the North End Of The End Zone underneath the uprights will be that stage that's that that large black box going to ride in this area the new graduates will be staged out in those lines as I showed you and then the stadium will be sort of divided in half there on the field that line will be a mansions in those smaller boxes represent those four packs of a stadium seating the family packs that you see here on the right and then both the visitor side bleachers and the home side bleachers will be open and I just put some dogs out there to replicate what that would look like in those in those groups of four seats delimited together so don't laugh at me text tell any other questions now gentleman graduation before we go on to other events I am frantically typing and with lots of typos so please be kind folks this crisis about graduation practice so I know that you are can cover that in a sec graduation be recorded at we're going to record the event and they were going to stream a live stream but I assume we will also report it absolutely yes we will like we did last year with drive to that was our first Adventure into that and we did and we were able to live streaming and recorded at the same time so yes and Mr McGuinness has been a couple questions about how she's going to be assigned I know you mentioned going to be enemies but you can clarify maybe why we're doing that as opposed to having them pick their seats so the guidelines actually in LA county it says that the seating areas need to be find so having having open seating where people can go pick their spots that first come first serve idea it will would not comply with the guidelines so we need to have some structure to that which is why we need to why were planning on the signing them and there's no obviously I would love to figure out an easy way to do that or not Equitable way to do that and then the way that we're going to do that and then meets most it's everybody's needs is a is a complete randomization mr. McGinnis a couple other points out a couple folks are asking about photos and will they be able to move up closer to take photographs we have a professional photographer use we've used for I don't know mr. men little mr. That seems like it's the same photographer for all the time we've been doing this each graduate will be photographed in into settings once when they receive the there. once usually a picture with Mr McGinnis and those proofs are then sent to each family so there's no way we can allow parents to come to the front and take pictures even in a normal time we would not allow that to happen anyway I'm having flashbacks to where my kids are the elementary school for their performances and it did will definitely not work at high school graduation the other comment that was asked that I thought we should kind of address directly a couple of ask about graduation stoles I see Mr Man let his typing that any any graduation paraphernalia that is worn has to be school issued so it cannot be kids are not allowed to wear anything they want with their graduate Honor Society stole those things are all produced by the school or by the organizations within the school that handles out and so we do not have specific things that just put on to represent it has to come from the school and while we're on that that note a few years ago back we establish a protocol for being able to decorate your graduation cap so we'll provide some information to you and some guidance about that we we want you to celebrate we want to celebrate you and we want you to do it in in in a in a conscientious manner so we just have a few guidelines that will share four should you wish to decorate your graduation cap okay let's let's continue on Wolf come back to some of those questions let's talk a little bit about a senior celebration and I'm going to put a slash on that and and use the word prom so question that you've all been asking we are super interested in in creating opportunities to celebrate you and and to allow you to have a senior experienced if you missed out on so much over the last year-and-a-half and we want to be able to to to meet some of these to your needs so let's talk a little bit about some of our plans we currently have a committee was working on some tell us and finalizing the date we met with a group of committed and dedicated parents thank you I appreciate that we're actually having our second planning meeting tomorrow so we'll have some more ideas and be able to finalize some plans but we are looking at that week right before graduation to host a evening event where we can celebrate you where are are Apple let me to explain what it's going to look like we're going to have enough to I have a special dinner where we can have some senior presentation as we have some of our senior teachers that you have nominated that would like to share their words of encouragement and and support and acknowledge of your work until we're looking at that dinner and that senior presentation with staff that night will also I have DJ music notes not me with my iPhone in my Spotify playlist in the box will be able to do a little bit more efficient and professional we do have a food food oh wow remix we do have a photo booth plan so it opportunity for you to capture some of those in images and yes we are looking about how we can make that promise. It's happened with dancing just today the county provided an updated revision to the guidelines so I literally fell doubt about it about two hours ago and I printed it and I read through it once but I want to read through it again a little bit more carefully as his team continues to plan so we are looking at how we can make that happen just know that right now just by first read it still needs to be 6 feet apart and separated so you know it'll look and feel a little bit different won't be the good old-fashioned traditional you don't mosh pit the center of the Dance Floor type thing so I'm just being honest upfront it's going to look a little bit different everybody but we want to figure out how we can make it have fun and celebratory for all of you guys to look for some more info coming from are planning committee up next is something super cool and celebratory as well and I'm going to let mr. Talk a little bit about what this is all about if you don't know about sign on the line don't know where you been right okay everybody thanks for coming there's a ton of questions it and we're going to try to answer everything we can but as the the Renaissance coordinator one of the one of the things I look forward to the most is when we get to late April early May and we began celebrating our kids and your kids for the decisions that they're making beyond June 9th and and where are the next steps in their Journeys are going to take them after we've begun collecting information we've actually been begging seniors for information over the last two months but now decisions are finally being made by kids and we are conducting our side of the line event which is a celebration we do it and try to do two groups of 10 where each case can get a little bit of individual attention and they basically just need to email me and I will send them a Google form and get their information and get them signed up to take part in these events are first one tomorrow at 3 we are doing an after-school to try to accommodate kids were off campus of kids who are on campus and parents who are trying to get where they're needing to go so I'm pretty much for the next 4 cyl future for the next four weeks Thursdays and Fridays at 3 we will be in Friendship Circle celebrating kids it is a very simple but very important celebration to acknowledge the work that our young people have done and it is one of the best things that I get to do in my job so if your son or daughter has not signed up with me yet or or is beta decision in the last couple of days cuz I know May 1st was the deadline the most kids just have them shoot me an email if they're on campus they can come talk to me and we will get them signed up and get them ready to go okay super fun very fun memories from the parent standing there watching my kids sign yeah. We're going to make it happen it'll be fun I'll be awesome okay so let's talk a little bit about the some dates right now are our plan your senior teachers are going to be kind of wrapping up your finals and your your end of the end of the semester assignments things like that the weekend of May 24th through 28th their grades are due the following week so that we can able we are able to finalize your handsome to the board for approval for your graduated the fact that you've actually met all the requirements to graduate look for directions from your teachers on that week of May 20th through May 24th to the dates for information about your finals the last two days of official destruction we call Senor check out that's going to be on June 3rd and June 4th. That happens to be 10 Friday so the be cohort kids will be saying goodbye in person to their their senior teachers their their their their their classes that day a day and see you're going to be saying goodbye to them virtual but Senor check out day is third and fourth we are scheduled to a graduation rehearsal on Monday June 7th at 9 a.m. in the stadium okay so take a picture of this slide or put it in your phone or write it on a piece of paper like old people do I grab your hersel 7th of June at the Monday at 9 in the stadium currently don't have one scheduled on Tuesday in the past have done too but we're trying to limit the amount of Opera the amount of times that were connect coming together in large groups so if we do I think we need to do and do it well and do it quickly on that Monday will you only have one rehearsal so those are some important dates coming up and I think that's this is always a Shameless any images that any other social media connections here so please added on there and thus concludes our formal and official presentation but I want to make sure that we have an opportunity answer any questions that you might have had coming on coming up throughout this presentation mystery get is one thing from our registrar who also happens to be a parent of a graduate just a reminder it's for parents to please log into Aries and confirm that you we have the correct address and email for you that is how you get your proofs for the graduation photos is we send your email address to the photographer and those will be emailed directly to you and they take us out of the loop which is probably a really good thing to please double check and make sure we have your correct information so that you're able to get you Bruce Felicia there you go piggyback on that mr. Mister about checking Aries being out of this graduation good idea for everyone to make sure they check Aries look at their grades make sure everything is where they need to be I'm just the teacher standpoint there's only three weeks left with the students so if grades and and work is not exactly where you wanted to be able to encourage everyone to check and see where you're at if there's an issue please reach out your teachers are going to have a handsome face to go so please make sure everything is lining up all right I guess I get a jump in here a few times and say a few things as well a couple questions come up I see in the past we've done VIP section where you can purchase tickets that is not going to be happening this year there is no extra additional purchase of tickets graduates will be issued for tickets and four tickets only I know also in the past they're issued a few tickets and then you they can buy extra because of our social distancing limitations we are only going to be able to give 4 tickets out there will be some accommodations made for separated families we understand dad said this is life and so we know that these four tickets are necessarily going to be required to all four tickets to sit in the same area we're going to work on unseating and make sure we accommodate that additional car has been some talk about day senior Awards night and Senior dinner I know there has been some talk about senior Awards night at work tonight this year my understanding is that will be occurring on Monday the 7th the same night is graduation practice it will be a virtual event I'm still waiting for details on that myself but that is when are senior Awards and recognition night will be that is when the number of groups are lining up to throw money in the direction of our seniors and so we hope it's a lot where are seniors this year as far as our senior dinner goes I may be going to put that over to mr. McGinnis or mr. calls as I still possibly in the works no idea I think it's there's a couple questions I saw one from this is Faith as far as you see your breakfast receive your dinner what time is the date and time for the senior celebration so basically what we're trying to do is take them would have been our events in the past we're going to try to combine them into one overall event and so the senior breakfast is is going to you know fade off into the sunset honestly and the senior dinner is is hopefully going to become our new tradition one of the things didn't really emphasize to us back in January when we surveyed them was there was a really strong desire to have an opportunity to say goodbye not just to each other but to their teachers to their staff breakfast really eliminate the chance for anybody but new staff members to attend because everybody's working and so by having a dinner and inviting the staff to be a part of that dinner the idea is to give that opportunity to meet that desire for the kids expressed as far as the date and time for that that is part of what we're working with with this Committee of parents that is formed to to try to work this out and combined it into something maybe a little bit bigger where Mr McGinnis was talking about even throwing the dreaded four-letter word prom into the title of the event and so we I don't have a date or time or a cost for any of that for you yet the goal is to keep the cost as low as possible but still provide a dinner for the kids and adults it would be students only if that was also a question and another question that was asked is is it you know do they dress up that would be the idea would be would be a semi-formal event to give kids a chance to also you know maybe they don't go Botox in prom dress some will I guarantee you some will but it is an effort to try and incorporate some of these things that that they have lost throughout the year into a overall event and that is the that effort to take you place like I said it's still fluid and I don't want to have like throw stuff out at you and then pull it back three days later and say I I totally lied to you on a webinar that got recorded so I kind of want to leave that part of it there until we are able to to get some more information out to you guys next week the goal would be for us to have a plan set in place by next week what is suggestive of the cough more which is this prom spelled back El preso backwards yes of the other question that came up a lot Mr McGinnis was your books and I don't know if you have more information because my response is I don't know so I'm hoping either we have a date East Aurora still working on that I hear they're going to going to be delivered to school here shortly which is great because the once upon a time I heard that they weren't going to be delivered in time before we say goodbye to all of you so that wasn't going to work they're going to be here shortly and as soon as we get a confirmation on that delivery then we'll set out a time to get those into your hands before so you can have them at these events you can have them check out there you can have them at the senior celebration night as well so any other yes guard will be able to be coming to the graduation so mr. Sent out all the honor guard letters to each of the seniors that nominated for a former teacher to be part of the honor guard current or I guess they ate those letters have all been delivered to them and they misspelled was getting RSVPs from that group of folks who are will be in attendance an interesting question of course it comes from an anonymous person are you laughing at the one about senior prank or Senior Skip day I'll let the administrator answer that question every day feels like Senior Skip day since last March. I will I'll let you go ahead mr. McGinnis the question that I'm answering his will there be a senior prank where Senior Skip Day so officially there is no there's never an official senior ditch day that that is does it turn into a legitimate absence and perhaps even a truancy and so there is no senior ditch day secondly senior pranks did you know I'll just be honest I don't just speak up frankly here you guys in the past you know as much fun as that might seem is that there is really it it is a detriment it's a detriment to you know our school it's in the passage what is damaged in the last thing I want to do is sit with you and your family in my office on the eve of graduation and say guess what your child is not going to go to participate in the ceremony because they did damage to our are they there they were part of the senior prank and and you know there are no one wants to do with his repercussions had those conversations in the past and I really don't care to keep doing that in the future so just be just be just be smart you know this is not the time to to come to school and and and do something silly or or you know nefarious or you know DIYs another question about year books there's a lot of questions about the Air Books my friend Allison I don't know what's in the yearbook idea pictures I'm going to take pictures and if those are you that feel that's a sarcastic answer Allison's laugh right now and that's okay for me to say can you still purchase a yearbook when they arrive or can you order the no yes you can please don't go to Jostens to order the yearbook order directly through our web store so if you go to the website there's a web store button in the right-hand corner of if you click on that you can still purchase a yearbook I would recommend that you do that sooner rather than later because of the anticipated lack of demand my guess is that there's been less ordered than usual so if you are wanting a year but please go and purchase that through the student stores Web Store I guess if you are on in a Arabic or you could come into the store and purchase it with me carrier but it's faster for you to do it on the otherwise door itself I just saw another another question to in the chat about honor cords and yes honor cords for those like for early college and for Masa and for humanities and CSF at nnhs those are all will be delivered separately to your children prior to graduation they're able to get ready and get all dolled up before the event so those are all going to happen in probably a different different times I know David and CSF passed out there Court there barstools and chords yesterday at the drive-through NASA has their awards banquet coming up soon and Humanities is going to deliver them separately their kids early college will have a chance for them to come and pick them up I will probably link a lot of that you know distribution of your books and things like that we've got we got a lot going on and so keep your eyes open for information both in parentsquare and in your emails I just for the just for sake of this that I I have been sending some duplicate Communications and kids are students excuse me I've been using your school email addresses so pass the word if you're not on parentsquare regularly been getting the communications that we've been sending out you should check your emails to that's a good habit to get into lawyers what you're looking it up all night respond to balloon question there was a balloon in there can we discourage balloons yes that's pretty typical practice that we asked asked the no balloons are brought to the ceremony only because it does obstruct the view of others in front or behind you and so please do not to bring balloon are we know it's going to be hot out there especially because we're going to have graduation little bit earlier I will talk about having some cooling centers available we have talked about that and I know people might want to bring even umbrellas so II I do know at this point we're discouraging please do not bring balloon umbrellas and other things I think we're going to need to talk about some more and figure out how we're going to deal with the heat situation if it arises I have another question about cap and gown if you were unable to purchase cap and gown prior to yesterday there are a couple of options the easiest option we do have in the student store now you would simply need to go to Jostens to purchase it though I were not able to process that order but rather than waiting for them to deliver it to you or to the school once you ordered it you just come into the store and show us your receipt or show us it on your phone and we will have the gown and The Medallion and the tassel there for you and that is easiest way we were able to kind of thing to work with Jostens to make that happen and I'm looking at a lot of questions here that we still have to work the details because things are changing around so much and so quickly we changed a lot of different things we're still working on parking especially accessible parking for those that need it so we will make sure that we have a good parking plan in place along with a number of other questions that I want to answer right now but we just don't have the answers so we're going to continue to meet and try to find it so please encourage your your students to pay close attention of course information will come out from mr.
