Academic Performance Information
Monrovia High School is proud of our consistent success and desire to raise our students’ achievement scores as measured by the state of California's accountability system. Through our rigorous academic expectations we have increased our Academic Performance Index (API) by 79 points during the past five years.
The established accountability system designed by the state includes measurable expectations to be published annually. Each of the published measures are explained and listed below for Monrovia High School.
Academic Performance Index (API)
The cornerstone of California's Public Schools Accountability Act of 1999; measures the academic performance and growth of schools on a variety of academic measures.
Accountability Progress Reporting (APR)
California's integrated accountability system that reports both the state Academic Performance Index (API), and the federal Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and Program Improvement (PI).
Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)
A statewide accountability system mandated by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 which requires each state to ensure that all schools and districts make Adequate Yearly Progress.
